Fasthosts are your worst hosting nightmare. In a nuthshell they offer UNRELIABLE services alongside the POOREST customer support I & MANY others have ever experienced. They also have a well known history of taking un-authorised payments from your card....

I have posted here before and some other review sites and have managed very painfully to now close all but two of my accounts and thought that since March things may have improve/ changed. Simply out I can't access my control panels, Technical put me on hold for 6 mins and then the call was 15 minutes only to be told this was a known issue. My temper flared again with them. If you have any sense whatsoever, never use them. Don't ring them. I am working on moving the other domain names and last remaining two web-sites....

I have been with fasthosts for many years but recently, their billing practices and customer services have taken a definite turn for the worse.
After having my wallet stolen, my card details on the fasthosts website were not up to date. Not realising my hosting account was due, fasthosts tried to bill my card, then when it failed, charged me £23 'debt recovery fee'. After many emails trying to cancel my account or get a refund for this fee, fasthosts were simply not interested and refused to give me a refund. This was for a product that I was paying 12 months in advance for, hadn't yet received and no longer wanted. They didn't care - I had to pay with no refund. They gave me 3 months free to keep me happy. They also claim they sent emails reminding me about my card - none of which I received, but they didn't believe me.
Then again, a few months later I saw that 2 of my domains had been automatically renewed - payment taken straight from my card. I didn't want these renewed witho...

I bought 1 month hosting from fasthosts for trying. (www.ladybellydance.com)Because they have "moneyback" guarantee. I was load my script to my hosting but I was need a database. They don't give database with hosting. You must buy extra ($50-$60).
I bought database to .And I load successfully my script but not working. I sent support ticket to fasthosts and they don't respond 2 days. I call and I was want moneyback. They don't moneyback because they refund for "ONLY HOSTING". Hosting is $4-5 but Database is $50-$60. THEY DID'NT REFUND FOR DATABASE. Please be careful to this company!...

Fasthosts dedicated servers offer very poor support for any physical hands on work to the server. We were locked out of our dedicated server and requested a password reset. Fasthosts charged us £70 for for an engineer to do this and told us this will probably be done in the next 2 days but could take up to a week. However it was only after 5 weeks that the engineer had looked at our request. Due to the ticketing support system the communication line had resulted in us being sent back to the back of the support queue again! The support staff on the phone still could make no guarantees about dates. Another 3 weeks passed until the engineer had managed to look at the server and without warning us, rebuilt the server without the original website files, thus all websites have were down. Again I phoned support to ask when they will restore the websites & data and yet again they could give me no guarantees about when the websites data will be restored. I have used many hosting companies over the years in my role as a professional designer, and Fasthosts are by far the most incompetent, careless and disastrous. They regularly mess up their systems so that all websites go down, they change control panel and database passwords AT THE SAME time so you can't get in to fix problems for days, they lose your files with no backups, the support is totally useless unless you like spending an hour and a half waiting to talk to a surly and unhelpful jobsworth with no interest in actually helping you.. I could go on.
At present all of my sites have been down and unavailable for 3 days, and I'm waiting for them to physically post the new control panel password to my house. The problem is, they have my old address on record and say I can only update it through my control panel.. BUT THEY HAVE CHANGED THE PASSWORD TO MY CONTROL PANEL.
Do not use this company unless you want to waste your money and lose clients....

My experiences of fasthosts has been abysml. They take money without authority and will not refund it. They have a terrible customer service attitude and many of the staff come across and sullen and unhelpful.
They used to be good and then about a year ago they turned nightmarish and greedy. Flash front end website masking total contempt for paying customers.
Avoid them like the plague I hope that Fasthosts very quickly become pasthosts!...

Fasthosts are fine until something goes wrong. In January 08 we did a major site upgrade, changed to Linux and introduced a database. Ever since I have needed their help, they have been slow and not actually fixed a problem. They might be cheap but the value for money is hopeless. I would urge any business that depends on the web for income to avoid them. I would say they aiming to be the British Gas of the web hosting business. Avoid Fasthosts at ALL COSTS....

Absolutely discraceful service. We have a dedicated server with Fasthosts that is falling over 5 time per day. We placed a 'paid engineer' service request with them but were informed there is a 72 hour delay before their engineers can even look at the problem - let alone fix it. Customer service attitude stinks. Don't be a fool - don't use their services and don't trust them to keep your business online. They couldn't give-a-hoot. ...

I have two websites with Fasthosts, I used to have 3 but moved one because of all of the problems, I cannot change or add text to either of my websites, Fasthosts claim that Firefox 3 is not compatable with their system and I should use I.E., now I.E. does not work either, to say That I am annoyed is a huge understatment, do not go there, move you sites elsewhere and if anyone can recommend another company then please let me and others know....asap!!!...

Never be tempted to use Fasthosts.
They are rubbish in everything they do.
Whether it is just for one basic site, or like us a reseller with many, do not go near them.
They will be more trouble than they are worth, with slow servers, bad idiotic support and terrible attitude to customer retention. Don't do it
